A Devotional for October 12, 2026 from Psalm 43:3
There are moments when the way forward seems hidden beneath uncertainty, disappointment, or fear. Psalm 43:3 gives us a prayer for those moments: “Send out Your light and Your truth; let them lead me.” The psalmist brings his need for direction to God, trusting that God can guide him when he cannot find his own way.
God’s light helps us see beyond the shadows that trouble our hearts. His truth gives us something dependable when our feelings shift and our circumstances remain unresolved. Together, they remind us that fear does not have the final word. God remains faithful, even when His purposes are difficult to understand.
Notice where the psalmist wants to go: “to Your holy mountain and to the place where You dwell.” His deepest longing is for God Himself. Beyond relief from distress, he desires renewed fellowship, worship, and the joy of being near the Lord. This prayer invites us to seek God’s presence within our circumstances, even as we ask Him to change them.
For Christians, this hope finds its fulfillment in Jesus Christ, who makes the Father known and opens the way into His presence. Through Him, we can approach God with confidence and bring every uncertainty before Him.
Today, place the decisions and burdens before you into God’s hands. Open His Word with a willing heart. Let His truth correct your assumptions, steady your thoughts, and shape your next step. You may not see the entire road, but you can trust the One who leads you.
Lord, send Your light into my confusion and Your truth into my doubts. Lead me in Your ways, and draw my heart nearer to You. Amen.
