When morning breaks upon the hill,
And waking earth lies hushed and still,
Trust in the Lord whose faithful hand
Has held the sea and shaped the land.
When noon is bright and pathways clear,
When songs of joy are sweet to hear,
Trust Him beneath the cloudless sky,
For every blessing comes from high.
And when the shadows gather near,
When sorrow speaks the voice of fear,
When hidden burdens weigh the soul
And waves of trouble rise and roll,
Pour out your heart before His throne;
No grief need bear its weight alone.
No secret wound, no silent care
Is ever hidden from Him there.
Bring Him the questions without end,
The broken hopes you cannot mend;
Bring every tear you cannot name,
Each disappointment, grief, and shame.
For God requires no polished plea,
No carefully shaped formality;
The trembling heart may simply come
And find within His presence home.
Trust Him when answers seem delayed,
When every earthly hope may fade;
Trust Him when doors are opened wide,
And trust Him when they close beside.
For faith is more than trusting God
When flowers bloom along the road;
It rests upon His steadfast grace
When darkness hides His loving face.
At all times trust—through joy and pain,
Through summer sun and winter rain;
When strength is full, when courage bends,
The faithfulness of God extends.
He is the Rock beneath our feet,
The refuge where the weary meet;
The shelter no fierce storm can break,
The fortress no dark power can shake.
Within His care the heart may rest,
Though trouble presses on the breast;
For refuge does not mean that we
Will never face the raging sea.
It means that when the tempests rise,
There stands a Rock beneath the skies;
And when our strength has reached its end,
The everlasting arms extend.
So pour your heart before the Lord;
Hold nothing back, conceal no word.
The God who knows what lies within
Still calls the burdened soul to Him.
He hears the prayer too weak to speak,
He strengthens those whose knees are weak;
He gathers tears that silently
Fall where no other eyes can see.
O people, trust Him all your days;
Through changing seasons give Him praise.
The One who kept you yesterday
Will still be God along the way.
When evening settles on the land,
Entrust tomorrow to His hand.
The future need not be controlled
When God Himself your life will hold.
And when at last the night draws near,
Rest quietly and without fear;
For underneath life's shifting sand
There lies the Rock on which we stand.
Pour out your heart; withhold no part.
God welcomes every wounded heart.
Through every season, loss, and test,
The Lord remains our place of rest.
Though kingdoms rise and kingdoms fall,
His mercy stands beyond them all.
Though earthly shelters disappear,
Our God, our Refuge, still is near.
So trust Him now, and trust Him then;
Trust when you cannot see the end.
For through the darkness and the light,
His steadfast love remains your might.
And let the soul in silence know
What troubled hearts may learn below:
The safest place that can be found
Is where God's faithful arms surround.
For He alone our Refuge stays
Through all our nights and all our days;
And hearts poured freely at His throne
Discover they were never alone.
